Most rigid-core vinyl ships with a 1.5 mm pad. Quiet Core runs a 5 mm IXPE pad, more than three times as thick. It takes the hollow click out of a floating floor, softens the step, and is more forgiving over a subfloor that is not perfectly flat. If the complaint about hard-surface flooring in your house is noise, this is the answer to it.
